Your site rankings on the search engines are not given out just
because a site looks nice, or you paid $10,000. to have it developed,
a site attains rankings through online advertising, optimization,
incoming links. Of course not quite in that order as in most cases
though the middle item is given the least respect, to be quite honest I
would rather spend $5,000. for a nice site and another $5,000. for site
optimization so that site will actually get noticed.

But who am I?

I
do a lot of surfing in a day and notice all to many beautiful sites
online, some that have been online for along time, many I do not see
very long as the site owners spend the wad on advertising when it
should have first been spent on optimization. Properly optimizing a
site is your single best expense if you want to have a successful
online business.

My favorite saying when I talk to potential new
customers is, do you work for your website or does your website work
for you? Think about that one, well if the only visitors your site
recieves are from your advertising dollars then your site works for you
and eventually you will probably run out of money, same concept holds
true in a brick and mortar business though online you better have a
huge advertising budget.

On the other hand a site that is
properly optimized and attains quality incoming links will enable you
to work for your site and it will send you the extra business that you
wanted in the first place, so in looking for either a site remake or
the development of a new site people need to be aware that in order to
build your business online.
