If you look a littler deeper into it the net as we no it has been around for more than a decade now, in the late 90's I use to notice many designers in the phone book,  now I am the only one.  Also then many designers had nice office building in town, now they are non-existent at least in the small town.  In major cities though the phone books are stuffed full of web designers, and the cost for this type of advertising is sky high.  Heck the salesmen of my ad told me that if I was in Columbus or Cleveland my ad would cost several hundred a month,  I would have to get some business paying those fees. 

Not only in Web design but in advertising and marketing the same things are happening,  just a year ago the local newspaper loved having my ads in the paper, last week when I called to place an ad they told me that I was a competitor and I could not place advertisements in there paper.  I guess they are getting afraid of my presence now and they should,  that put me on the war path! 

Some Fact of business growth:

>  Last year  2006 I averaged about 40 - 60 ads that expired every 60 - 90 days this year I am over 1700 ads that expire every 60 - 90 days,  really when you think about it that is some good growth! 

>  Last year 2006 I had just under 1 million visitors, this year I am pushing almost 6 million for the year.

I guess since it is coming up on the end of the year I really start to look at where my business is and where I want it to be,  In 2008 I would like to reach 4 thousand ads every 2 to 3 months with over 12 million visitors and anything extra would be gravy.

My advertising business has been online since May of 2003 so by May of this year that is 5 years.

Do I make any money at it?  Not really as I give away advertising for free so you really cannot say that I am greedy,  I look at it as a learning situation in that I have learned alot about web site design, development, seo plus many more facets of building an internet business. 

Personally I love to see the growth of this business in the last few years,  people are telling there friends about me,  they are starting to advertise the their business services, items they are selling and much more.  I talk to people all the time that say that they have used my site, people that come from florida, maine and many other areas.   I guess everyone has a little Buckeye in them and today BuckeyeAds.com is not just for Ohio any more as many of my customers are not from Ohio.
