Smaller companies just cannot operate like the larger companies simply because of budget constraints but we can move past that point to achieve high growth by putting our hard earned dollars where it counts! Developing a website that will get properly indexed by the major search engines, I stress major search engines as when you rank on the smaller engines what do you get? Ranking on the smaller engines and no business to your site, the only reason that you would advertise on smaller sites is to achieve ranked incoming links.

Who needs a website? The question should be who does not need a website because if you are in business today you need a website.

Why? Most people today have access to the internet and they want to see how using the internet can make their life easier so the first thing they do when they need something done is go to their computer, more than likely if you do not have an online presence you will not be receiving the new business ( Please understand I am stressing NEW business)
as many companies have well established business with old customers.

What you have to ask yourself is what are you going to do when the old customers stop buying? Ok you never asked yourself that question, this is the same answer companies are getting answered for them very quickly in this economy. This is why you need a website that is properly done otherwise you will be spending even more money to try to build your online business.

My friend is a web designer, boy does he do good work? Great, but how do his websites rank online or did you forget the most important part of having an online business. You did, well so now you have a great looking website that no one can find so how can you change that.

Actually there are three ways:

1. Spend many hours online reading on how to properly optimize your website, while you are learning your business that actually pays the bills is suffering now so you can learn how to build your online business.

2. Pay for it through keyword advertising on the major search engines, though this option can easily run into the hundreds if not thousands of dollars and produce varied results. Most people I have talked to never see much from this avenue.

3. Have your site organically optimized by a professional so that once you have built incoming links to your site your rankings will greatly improve.

My first suggest for you would be though is to hire a design company that also is an SEO firm, why?
Then it is a one shot deal as usually with these companies initial optimization is included in the design, so you will not be spending for it twice. With most SEO firms who actually no what they are doing the cost for proper work to be done will equal in most cases what you spend to design a quality website.

Why?

Most designers will take the content that you provide for them and simply install it in the new web pages to make it look good. Professional SEO’s will have to re-write that content to make sure it goes after the proper keywords so that your company can actually get noticed by the major search engines.
